In our previous exciting episode, Stamps of Approval, we saw another example of the fabric of this ongoing real-life series, Faith: The Final Frontier. David’s attempt at a get-out-of-newsletter-jail-free card was, “I don’t have any stamps!” In what is now obvious to the loyal reader, the problem can be solved by merely waiting a few minutes or seconds.
Though it might be easy for the reader observing the action from their theater seats, our hero seems to not see the predictable pattern lining up from the previous episodes. We know, when the superhero puts on his suit, overcoming the episodic enemy is inevitable. The thrill of the show is in the surprise solution.
This story is set up by the ironic arrival of an angel who is unawares. In classic Carmichaelesque fashion, it climaxes with a demonstration of God’s power in spite of David’s faith faltering.
In its reading, the story fulfills its orchestrated purpose. Welcome to becoming a part of the fabric of the series, Faith: The Final Frontier.
